Why do you need a standard rotation pump?

I know someone who did that to a 67, I don't recall him doing anything special for the pump, I'll ask.

You use a standard rotation water pump and then get a pulley set that has a standard rotation 6 groove serp setup. That's how I'm running mine. That way the radiator openings are on the correct side.

Why do u need to change rotation. I'm currently running only alternator and water pump and crank, using a 41 inch serp belt. I did have to get rid of the automatic tensioner and use a new alternator bracket from march pullies, which incorporates a manual tensioner.

I figured the radiator opening was the reason. But then again you could always get an aftermarket aluminum one that has the fox setup.
