Default A/C Line Question

I'm looking for advice on the a/c line that runs from the compressor, around the intake, to the canister on the firewall. I'm completely going through the engine bay right now to cleaning things up while I'm rebuilding the motor and this is one big piece that's going to look like @ss when all is said and done.

The foam is all cracked and peeling off, like most it seems. Is there anyway to just replace that foam insulation? Has anyone done anything else with the line, loom or anything? Suggestions...other than deleting the a/c?

You could always pull the foam insulation off the suction line and then just expose the hose from the compressor to the accumulator/drier.

I was thinking of doing that too, but I wasn't sure how bad that would be for the a/c system. Notice any difference?

I didn't notice any difference at all after I removed the foam insulation.
