1.6rr - 1.7rr

1.6rr - 1.7rr
When i pull my edelbrock heads off so i can rebuild the engine AGAIN, im gonna have them ported... I currently have Scorpion 1.6rr's, so i figured i might be able to use the extra lift of some 1.7rr's.
My question is, can i swap my 1.6s for 1.7s without changing anything else? (IE pushrod length..)

The only one capable of answering that question accurately, is your setup..... after you perform a valve train geometry procedure and ensure the narrowest rolling pattern of the rockers on the valve tip. Otherwise, upgrading to 1.7 rockers would be like upgrading to 1.67 ratio rockers instead.

If he didn't check valve train geometry for his current setup, it might be long overdue. Point being, he should do the Engine 101 procedure anyway not bolt on, torque and forget (not check), his current 1.6 ratio rockers might in reality be 1.57's.

This time, things will be getting done RIGHT. And the dont abuse it part, well..... thats just part of the game, bud .
Anyways, back on the topic... NO, i've never checked my valvetrain geometry. If the old owner treated it anything like the bottom end, its all ****ed up and i need to give it a good once over. I just figured i could swap out my 1.6 rocker arms for the 1.7s no problem, since the stock cam guys do it all day long.
