I have had the same problem with mine it was a combo of stuff. 1.check coil and see if it is leaking at all. 2.replace starter relay cheap as it is knocks that out from the list. 3.check wires to starter and grounds. 4.check timing this was the messed up part with mine. my timing was perfect and since it sounded like car had now power to crank when it got warmed up i messed with the cap and it became better to start after warmed up but not fully fixed yet.

work in progress i will let you know if i fully get it fixxed

electrically, everything on my car seems fine so im not sure what else i can do... i have a t-56 trans and my starter is a little closer to the exhaust now, so im fairly sure the starter is just getting to hot like mjr46 said... im just not sure how to fix the problem. heat wrap on that part of the exhaust? heat shield maybe? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Im confused, i thought changing the cables did not fix it? lol.

A voltage drop test on the starting system would have pointed you to the cables right away.

I have no clue why that test is always over looked by people

Im glad its fixed though!

If it starts fine when cold then dies or wont restart after its hot, its the TFI. Replace it. The TFI is on the side of the distributor and can malfunction from heat soak....common problem.
