sn95 springs lower fox..?
hi I have been in a long discussion about using 94-04 springs in a 79 fox. i have searched forums and many times I find a simple answer "yes it will work". but on a few forums including mustang-forums some have said it may raise up the fox .. BUT , on a few other forums it has been stated that sn95 springs are shorter in the back than foxes.. can anyone confirm this . I have a few theory's
1. maybe sn95 sit lower stock than foxes
2. since sn95s curb weight is more the foxes are getting stiffer front springs that seem to hold up the front more on a lighter fox giving an illusion that the rear is lower when put in fox
3. sn95s have spring perches or rubber cups ( whatever there called ) I have no idea what sn95 rears look like.
any input would be great but someone who can tell me for sure from first hand experience would be awesome..
the reason I am asking this is that I am wanting to use sn95 rear roush springs with a drop of 5/64 of an inch. but i would like to know if the 79 will sit higher or lower and why. thanks

Or I may use stock 1998 sn95 8.8 rear end with everything if I can find one reasonable . i would like to know if I should pay a few $$ more for the stock sn95 springs at time of purchase if they will lower the rear any at all . not worried about the front because i am going coilover .

i'm trying to find out too.i have a set off of an 01 mach 1.my fronts are sagging.i got all four for 20 bucks. i'm going to try them soon. the only reason i bought them was that some springs list 79-04 when you go to buy them.but some do not.as far as ride hieght goes,i remember stock foxes riding like a truck when they were new.so how bad can it be.

99-04s ride hella high stock, i think the springs will work on foxes too but my guess is it just won't sit as low as on the SN95. As far as i know all mustangs 79-04 with a solid rear axle can share the same springs.

If they raise it up above what is listed I don't want them because I am wanting to use weight jacker LCAs and they only lower up to 1 inch . that would leave me with less than one inch lowering available ..hmm
