This might be a dumb question but im putting my car back together after changing the timing cover gasket and i cannot get the bolt for the harmonic balancer started anyone have any idea if this is a common thing or is something else going on?

push the balancer on by hand as far as you can or tap it with a rubber mallet so you can get it to the point where the threads will engauge
