Default Swapping out rear end in '89 mustang

Ok i have a couple questions if anyone could answer them that would be great, I have a 89 mustang that and im planning to swap the rear end out in about 2 weeks, but first i have a couple questions, alright the rear end im putting in is from ford racing its a 31 spline with 8.8 gears, now the question i have is will i have to swap out my stock rear axle when swapping the rear end? also if my aluminum driveshaft is not 31 spline will it need to be swapped out also? I wanna say the driveshaft is a 28 spline but im not positive, any answers you guys have will be great and if anyone knows of a step by step tutorial of how to swap out the rear end please let me know, thanks

, Tyler

Also here is the link for the rear end, in case you need more info on it.

driveshaft will work, your axles won't. stock Mustang axles are 28 spline. you should be able to get a set of stock style c-clip Mosers or Superiors for under $300.

you bought a differential ... not a rear end

you will need a set of 31 spline axles, and a full install kit. not to mention, bringing it to someone who has a clue... you WILL NOT be able to install this on your own

I just helped my buddy do a gear swap on on his 8.8. Pain in the A**. We got it done but I would advise you have someone with a lot of knowledge about gear swapping with you.
