Hey man welcome,
I was in the same boat as you about 2 months ago, fox body, notch, hatch new style what to pick from their all good looking cars! I was wanting a 91-93 hatchback 5.0 LX, gt power minus the body kit and higher insurance. Then I started thinking alot more down the road and what I wanted to do to the car. Im planning on doing motor, drivetrain, suspension, I mean everything, but also the exterior I will be adding a subtle body kit, nothing insane like an import, and all my audio stuff, and relized maybe it'd be a better choice to go with a 94-95 because theres much more stuff out the cosmetic wise (that look good) for that body style. And i'd still have the 5.0 power plant. I ended up with a 1994 Cobra, and I love it, slapped some 2000 Mustang GT rims on it, and it looks 5 years newer. I mean I honestly love the fox body, I still want one, as a matter of fact once I get done with this one, and get a house and get settled down a little im thinking about buying one to just build from the ground up. I dont know if this was what you were wanting to hear, but think a long ways down the road when your wanting to put that much work (and money) into a car. And what all you want to do with it, and what parts are available.

hey man welcome! Ya i would definelty built your own engine its more satisfaction. I would go with a 87- 93 Fox im my opinion they have better built quality and look way better plus they go faster stock. i like to stay with 302's but do whatever you want. Get a Notchback they are lighter and in my opinion look better but its your car. Make sure its in good conidition body and everything b/c you dont want to go replacing body parts they arent expensive but they are just time comsuming. Good Luck!!
