Edelbrock heads on a 347
So I got a bored 347 and plan on putting some aluminum edelbrock heads on it. The heads are edelbrock performer and have EOD-215-33 written on them. The heads were used so i took them to a local machine shop. The machine shop called me and said they need new valves, but they have no idea how to get valves for edelbrock heads. So I was wondering if anyone knew what valves I need to buy. Also, the cam in the 347 has a 555 lift and will need stronger springs. So i need to know where to get stronger springs for those heads. The machine shop isn't much help.
number 1, if a machine shop has no clue where to get valves for eddy heads, run!!! and run now, take your stuff and find a different machine shop, for one eddy heads such as the performers have 1.90/1.60 valves or a 2.02/ 1.60 and without looking your part number up it's one of the two....and number 2 if a machine shop can't make a recommendation for springs, then definitely run from them!! we need to know more of the specs on the cam...part number???
Yea I was getting the same feeling. Thanks for the advice. The cam is a comp cam. I gave the machine shop a paper that came with the cam that had all the specs on it for that cam. They currently still have that paper.
