So I have an 87 5.0 Mustang v8 with the AOD transmission and believe im having some sort of transmission problems.. Car will only start in neutral. It idles fine in neutral but when giving it gas it wants to rock forward a little. when shifted to park it will die almost immediately. When shifted into drive or reverse it will just want to go and when applying the brakes it dies. Also not sure if this is related to the issue or not but when removing the transmission oil pan there were small pieces of some sort of shredded greenish plastic.. thought about it possibly being pieces of a clutch band or shim? also thought about some possible causes being the torque converter clutch will not disengage or malfunctioning tcc solenoid?
