more cam questions

temps been around 50 during the day, 30s at night.
had to have been sitting for at least a week.
the sample that didnt dry was in my garage, which is probably 50-55

is the degree wheel necessary for typical install or is that just to squeeze out every last bit of performance from the cam?

i did some research. it appears the loctite wont dry unless it is sealed off from air. this is what i was seeing in my garage sample, so that makes me feel better.
i wonder though what the effects of using too much loctite on the bolt are? just increased drying time, or does it cause a weaker connection, or ?

Hmm didnt know that. I put loctite on my cam thrust bolts and had to take it back out for whatever reason, but it was fully set up. Same temperature outside and all. It wasnt sealed off from anything though

when we are talking about blue loctite, we aere talking 242, or 243? i am using the 242.
also, right now i am wanting to remove the bolts again, clean them, get a thread cleaner and clean out the holes in the block and re-install using only a couple drops of loctite.
somebody stop me if it appears my ocd is taking over

No youre fine. You are doing the same thing I did, and I was doing a lot more detail oriented things then you are lol. Yes I have the 242. I cleaned up everything, put the loctite back on the bolt, and torqued it down appropriately. Then stop worrying about it, by the time you start the motor it will have set up, and it needs upper 300* before it loosens by temperature, and if that happens then you have bigger problems than the bolt to worry about lol

If you didn't clean any oil from the bolts or holes then the Loctite is never going to set. The bolts and holes must be clean of all oil and other contaminants.
I always clean every thing out with brake cleaner and air first before any Loctite is applied.
