i have a lot of lifter noise with my new cam install is this normal? i have an 88 gt stock bottom end f303 cam gt 40 p heads mild port job ford racing bee hive springs stock valves ford racing retainers pedestal mount Crane 1.6 roller rockers stock push rods. are my push rods too long and maybe emptying the lifters or something idk can someone help me out with a possible solution maybe ,thanx.........
for pedastal mount rockers, I assume you set lash for each valve on the base circle and that you reached 25 ft lbs of torque in 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn past zero lash??
Its not just one rocker, it is all of them making noise. They are pedestal mount. So i don't think there is a adjustment that can be made
How did you set the valve lash? I have 1.7 rollers in my car and they are about as quiet as stock. Also you should have measured for push rod lenth before you reassembled everything. The wrong lenth push rod will make for a noisy valve train. Summit has a real nice video on YouTube on how to measure for correct lenth.
