Good question, I'd like to know the answer, too, but it might go faster in the technical section?

Not to steal the thread but, telsonman do you know what your motor is putting out rwhp wise? I'm curious as it is real similar to the set up I am slowly putting together for my 87. I just have a different size MAF and using an Explorer GT40 intake just wonder if it is close to my estimate.

if i had to estimate, it would say between 270-280 rwhp. my buddy had gt40p heads, e cam, and a cobra intake, and he was pushing 277 at the wheels. The only difference is our intakes, and i think i'm running a bigger maf. I think my intake is better, so hopefully i'll be pushing more. I have to wait and get it tuned though... oh, make sure you put some subframe connectors on

I believe you can run stock valve train with an E303 since its close to the stock spec cam. Personally i'm running and E303 with crane pushrods, crane 1.7rr and edlebrock valvesprings on performer heads

i know people that have run factory valvetrain but i have the e cam with 1.7 rr and trick flow stock length push rods and motorsport springs for the cam, you wouldnt want to coapse a spring under high rpms is how it was explained to me

I used stock pushrods because they looked newer when i pulled them out. But i had to shim my 1.6 roller rockers to get the valve lash correct. and definatly use new springs and rockers!
