Carburetor intake rpm ranges come down when used with EFI. A Vic Jr in an EFI setup is still unrestrictive, so it will make power up high, 8,000rpm+, but because it's a dry flow setup(with port injection) you don't have the vaporization and fuel suspension problems of carb, so the low rpm power is still retained with EFI. Some power will be lost due to a decreased induction velocity, but the car will still be drivable with fuel injection and make decent low rpm power. The problem with a carburetor is that if the induction velocity gets too low, the fuel vapor tries to turn back to a liquid and fall out of the airstream onto the bottom of the intake runners, and you get mostly just air entering the cylinder with liquid fuel dribbling down into it, so combustion goes out the window and tons of power are lost. EFI that uses port injection doesn't have that problem.

Most of the induction velocity loss is taken care of by the long
run CAI's we use. So even that is not much of an issue.

Okay, so the TPS will work. I wos wondering though if I could run without a IAC, or just make an adaptor for the ford IAC.

r.barn, you have a link to that intake with the spots for the injectors in it already(some reason I can't find it...)? Also, if it comes down to it, do you still have your intake elbow...are you willing to sell it??

MY tuner orginally wanted to just make an adaptor
plate to use the Ford IAC, no idea how to make it work though
or if it would.

I do have an elbow I can sell you for cheap, but its been modified
and you will need to run a spacer under it for proper thrtl cable to fuel rail clearance.

You could install Mega Squirt II system and make it all work for sure........................
