Oh, my #'s are w/ pump gas also.

regardless as I said before, you have a nice car w/ all new stuff. I can olny say the same about 1/2 of that for my car. [:'(]

I guess my question is, why spend all the big bucks on parts that will support 500-600hp and then only try to get less then 400 outa it? You could have got to the same point alot cheaper.

I don't think anyone here is trying to knock your setup, but it's pretty obvious to most folks here that even with a conservative tune you should be making more power. Others have been posting their setups that do run on pump fuel just for comparison. Mine for instance is just a n/a 302 that runs on pump fuel and makes a bit over 300rwhp. So don't you think think that a blown and built 347 should put out quite a bit more than an extra 80-100rwhp? Like I said, no one here is trying to knock your setup, but even for a conservative pump fuel blown 347 your numbers seem low. 20 total timing is nothing. If you have like 9.5:1 or 10:1 compression then I can see it, but if it was built as a blower engine with 8.0 or 8.5:1 compression, or even 9.0:1you should be able to run more than a meager 20* total timingon pump fuel and still have a good margin for safety. Centrifugals are much more efficient and can run higher total timing, since they don't make peak boost until after cylinder pressures wouldnormally startdropping off(peak cylinder pressure occurs at peak torque, and is the most likely place for detonation as a result).

Perhaps the base vortech isn't enough to really compliment the flow characteristics of a 347ci stroker motor with big heads.

I just finished my 331 install, and after my dyno tune in the next week or so, I am expecting about 350-380rwhp N/A.

I bet that car still rips though. Would love to see it in action at the strip.

I respect everyone's opionion on here, but how many of you can post of dyno sheet showing over 392 RWHP? I'm not trying to start an e-mail riot here, but I wouldn't think many of you could. I was expecting north of 400 RWHP and when we timed the car to 20 degrees, it was dead on. I want this engine to last, so aired on the side of caution with the tune. Remember, I only got a 5 psi blower, which read 10 lbs of boost during the last pull, so I'm not running crazy boost, even though I'm told the engine could handle 15 easily.

I'll post the sheet shortly and my motor literally has less than 100 miles on it, so these nunmbers should increase quite a bit. I could run race gas and bump the timing, and on one pull we did advance the timing and were just over 400 RWHP, but again, I want the engine to last, so we scaled it back a bit.

Keep in mind, we tuned this with an FMU, BTM timing master and we did tons of pulls and the guy who did my engine swap and did my tune, has a 540 RWHP 93 coupe, and he knows Mustangs better than anyone I ever met. He's actuallygoing to be on Pinks and did every bit of woprk to his car on his own. I can tell you one thing for sure, it's not running pig rich, the fuel pressure is optimal for what I was looking for and all of you people that don't have a 347 or a car that puts out this type of horsepower, is in for a big disppointment if you think you can put heads, cam, intake on and be over 400 RWHP.

I know I could get more about of my combo with smaller blower pulleys and different upper intake, boost the timing, etc., but I'm here to tell you, the car pulls hard.
If you are happy with it...that is all that matters...

I think everyone is just saying there is a lot more in that set up if you want it(part of the reason we all come on this Forum is to learn..I learned a hell of a lot in the last year in a half on this site).....100 miles is almost way too new to put it on the dyno..motor is really tight....go back on after 1500 miles and you will see a big jump I bet..

What size blower pulley is on the Vortech 3.33?
What size is the crank pulley 6 or 6.87?

Again for $189 you can add the anderson Mr. Freeze Meth kit and safely up that timing for more power...

Here is my first dyno sheet(416/392) when the motor only had 500 miles on it...This run and the following run werewith 93 Octane pump gas (27 degrees total timing) and this is the tune I drove it on all summer/fall. I also run Catalytic converters so am losingpower their as well...

Here is my latest run(454/426) in mid October....same dyno..no changes to the car at all other than 1500 miles on it and the motor much looser and quicker revving....weather was colder but still the same SAE correction....

The reason I went with the top shelf products because I figure if you going to do it, you might as well do it right. I don't think you're hearing me One Fast Eclipse, I am going to keep the tune conservative for now and it's nic eto know that I've got at least 100 HP, without doing anything drastic. This car still actually has working a.c., so obviously I'm going to lose some HP there as well.

I took the car out last night and it was absolutely sick. Unfortunate thing is we hit the rev limiter a couple times and the SC belt jumped one rib off the pulley. I need to tigthen the belt and probably should buyt some nicer aluminum pulleys too. The SC could very well be my weakest link, and if I up the boost or go more aggressive with the timing, that's another nice jump in HP. I don't know much about Meth inj., but that sounds interesting too.

The guy who tuned my car flat out knows his s***, but he very well could have been more conservative than necessary.

I have some loose end to button up on the car and after it breaks in, I'll think about getting more aggressive to maximize my set up.

Thanks for all the input and I'll pass along more details as things progress.

i put over 60 more rwhp and 100 ft lbs over those numbers with a 306 and h/c/i with 150 shot. i would think your combo should be over or close to 500rwhp. i think the thing holding you back is the SC trim.

What h/c/i combo did you use?

Those are some impressive numbers for a 306.

The SC trim is not holding him back. That charger flows 1000cfm and has a max hp rating of 680hp. The setup has PLENTY of untapped potential that could safely be accessed. It's up to the owner and tuner to use it.
