I have a set of aluminum GT40 heads with 1.99 intake valves and an X cam. Will my valves clear the pistons on my stock 89 engine with 1.7 roller rockers?

 

You mean 1.94? you're gonna run into ptv problems on a stock bottom end.

No to the question ^^^! ...you would have to notch your pistons or replace...1.6's will work...

not necessaryily as i have seen bigger cams (tfs stage 2) clear just fine and for the hundredth time it does not have to do with total lift but more the total timing events..

 

But.....an X303 on a 1.7RR is going to be bigger than a tfs2.....the 1.7 rocker arm is going to add .33 to the X cam making .575 lift and we all know it all has more to do with duration but thats just not going to clear............

 

u will never know without checking bvut the 1.7's might not make it work...
