Default ???? Bullet proof C4 ????

Ok what does a fella have to do to a stock C4 to make it stand up behind a 408 nitrous motor in a 3000lb fox....

Order one already built by Redneck Performance or Dynamic or Performance Automatic.
It will be cheaper in the long run or it was for me to order one. I priced all the things I was going to need and it wasn't hardly any money difference at all between me doing it and them doing it. I bought a Redneck Performance "loaded" C4. I got it delivered with a converter for $1270. It has a 650hp rating and they make one with an 850 hp rating also just for a little more money I think.

Just about everything in your case. You are probably going to need an SFI bell housing to go along with it to under that combo your looking at. Look at Ebay, look at the prices of a good valve body with trans brake, hardened drums, rollerized planetary, a reputable rebuild kit with good clutches and steels, reinforced forward clutch drum, hardened input shaft-26 spline by the way, Aftermarket billet servo. Among other things I know I'm forgetting. And don't feel bad, I have a C4 tranny in my old engine building shop out in the back of my house on one of the shelves because I was going to build my own tranny at one time too.

Basically, this tranny:

I have a PA backed up to my 331 in my 89 and theyre nice!

I had a rebuilt one from a local shop in it before with all the normal mods shift kit aftermarket clutches and a 2500 stall.

Second time i took it down the 1/8 mile it twisted the splines out of the torque convertor shoved the input shaft through the foward clutch drum and mushroomed the output shaft basically trashing it so now i have a PA and its holding up like a champ.

If that 408 is going to have any ***** buy a good tranny.
