I just unhooked the wires that were there and hooked up the new wire. If I can remember right it was the stud with the nut on it, not the plug. I'll try and take a look at it tomorrow to be sure.
That's interesting because weight transfer is exactly the reason why my friend mounted his on the passenger side of the trunk. We are bigger on autox than drag racing though so having the battery on the passenger side would help offset the weight of the driver during cornering (in theory at least, but it makes sense to me).
To the OP, I doubt there is a "right" side but if you are concentrating on drag, Pro5.0's advice seems to make the most sense.
+1 i'm 99% sure the car torques to the left, which means you'd want the weight on the pass side to offset it.
Doesn't that one car drag the left side of the bumper on launch?

Now thinking about it i'm gonna go ahead and put mine on the left because i have a vert and i need all the stabilizing support i can't get even if its minor.
