Whatever oil you put into your motor works just fine.

do what ever you want but that's old school and not needed, what do you think priming the oil system does?? it pumps the lifters full of oil

Soak the lifters, While priming the lifter may pump it ful of oil the roller themselves can benifit from the oil in the bearings. They are not dry by any means but soaking them is a sure fire way of knowing the oil in in the roller bearing. They don't have forced fed bearings. I'll just drop them in some oil a few hours before assembly. Make sure to prime it just before you fire it off the first time. Rotate the engine a 1/4 turn every few mintues to get them all primed. Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

I don't really soak mine, but I submerge them and roll the roller around just to make sure the bearing is well lubed before I drop them in.
