I've been looking for a roller chassis to swap my drivetrain into and I found a pretty good candidate. I was wondering if my 89 drivetrain and harness will work with an 86 body? I have been told by some friends just to try and find a 87-93, but so far the ones I've found aren't nearly as nice as the 86, and I've always wanted a 4 eye. Basically I'm asking if my 89 stuff will go into an 86 body with no problems.

I wouldn't think there would be much of a hassle on an 86.

I was also wondering about swapping my 89 dash into the 86 because the dash in those things is hideous and the previous owner of my car installed a 170 mph saleen cluster.

I also like the '85-86 GT dash....a friend of mine did put a 1988 dash in an '86 Coupe!

yes there is a 140mph speedo for the 86 mustang, which is ALOT easier to swap then an 87+
