If it was lasting minutes it wasn't mixed strong enough. I did like two cars correctly and got bored, so then i started to use less and watered the hell out of it and then I was able to make cars go for a while.

i was talking to one guy who did that and just put a cinderblock on the gas pedal and hid behind another clunker until he heard a boom and then silence
