Default Temp Gauge Sending Unit...

Is this hard to change? I thought my car needed a new Thermastat, but I took it to my local Mustang shop, and he guessed that it could be the Temp Gauge Sending Unit. He had me turn the key to ACC, and he reached in and touched something and the Temp Gauge went up and down...he then said it was just the 'Sending Unit'. Is this a difficult part to change?

look on the intake. I believe it is on the driver's side on the front part of the intake. It will have small plug and wire going to it.

the sending unit will look like this

I've been reading your posts here for awhile now...Not being rude, but you REALLY need to either buy yourself a Chilton/Haynes manual from your local Autozone or just buy a car that you know something about! I realize everybody has to start somewhere, but GEEZ!

Sorry, just being honest!

It's cool 'Joe'... I DO have one of those manuals, and I DO use it. Sometimes it can be a bit basic, and doesn't give you tips/secrets that people on this forum have learned. I figure that if I look in the manual, and ask on here, I'll have double the input. I do know a little about the vehicle I bought, but I'm very picky when I work on things, and I don't want to mess anything up...thanks for your input though! By the way, Joe, do you know the easiest way to take my gas cap off??? I can't figure it out...
