Question Pulling body off frame help please

I have a 1989 2.3 mustang, and im doing the conversion on it.. I was thinking while i have the drivetrain and everything out for the swap, would it be a good idea to pull the body off the frame and fix the rust and what not what?? If so how easy/hard is it to do this and maybe some hints and tips? any help would be greatful. Thanks. Also since i dont have a lift, would it be best to put the 5.0 parts (brakes, fuel line etc.) on the frame while its off the car??

umm seeing how the Mustang is a unibody your not pulling the body off the frame....you can remove the k member though but thats a lot of work and the 4 cylinder k member is the same as the v8

This should have been posted in the general section. The tech section is for more specific questions.

Default Frame removal from unibody Mustang????

The last answer you recieved is absolutely correct. Your car is a unibody, Meaning the body and frame are a welded unit. You can however if you like, seperate the two with a spot weld drill bit and an obscene amount of time and luck. Then you will need a frame shop to be sure the frame is completely square upon reassembly. However, If you want just do a complete detail to your frame, Just remove the front and rear suspension components, begin lightly sand blasting the rails or using a wire or a flapper wheel and get the job done, then use a high quality paint or roller type bedliner and do the entire underside of your car. Be careful of covering up factory GROUNDING points. This is a highe amount of work, but if you plan to keep and possibly show3 your stang one day, it is time and effort well spent. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
