1/4 mile shifting RPM's??
Hey guys i have a '90 Mustang GT all stock except for a few mods like valve covers and spark plugs and wheels and stuff, anyways i know the specs are 225 HP @ 4000 RPM and 300 Ft. lb of torque @ 3000 RPM. My question is what RPM are you guys shifting at when ya'll do ya'll quarter mile time? It's a little confusing when the HP peak is at 4000 RPM yet the tach goes all the way to 7000 RPM and it doesn't start to redline until about 5800-5900 RPM.

Here comes a crapstorm of opinions. All comes down to driving your car enough times to find your best E.T. Somewhere 5000-5500. You will have to try few times to find the sweet spot. Have fun, this means multiple trips down the straight. Test and tune or street night at track. Go early so can be under same basic conditions so results will be relevant.

225HP and 300 ft./lbs? Is that a typo?
Edit: Looked it up, didn't realize it was that big of a spread between HP and torque.
