is the steel gear whats compatable with the camshaft i am going to install?

i am going to run MSD's "Street Fire" box over running duraspark just because i want the rev limiter , but should i just get a stock 85 dizzy or should i actually get the MSD distrubuter as well. cash is short at the moment so im going the budget build at the moment.

also what can the stock valvetrain handle as far as RPM before i need upgrades?

about 4500rpm with those heads and valve springs, if i remember correctly the 5.0LO used the E6 heads(junk). the valvetrain was never designed to rev above 4500 rpm in those motors. i think max horsepower was around 3800-4000rpm on those motors if not less. should look on craigslist. seen many 5.0HO motors around my way that have sold for less then 250 bucks.

well that blows...Maybe some new heads need to be on the way faster than first thought. I would really like to build an engine with a redline of about 7000. I have picked out a Lunati Camshaft that should flow close to that range with the Intake and some good headers.

okay...next question. does anyone know if this 89 TC engine is a roller cam non HO, or is it Hyd. lifters? I know there is a conversion available to convert to roller cam but those lifters are expensive. Can I run roller lifters from a Non HO engine with a HO cam? I have an extra set of HO roller lifters but i dont know if they are the same length...
