+1 on big stall cars kicking a$$! lol they are a bast to drive on the street.... sometimes they get a little rediculous, like when you are trying to back out of a parking spot and the thing dies on you 3 times..... but thats besides the point

soooooo what do you guys think

nitrous plate system, progressive controller to give me a 100 shot in first, and 150-200 in the rest of the gears, and 2 extra bottles (not in the car, but 3 bottles total so I can switch out bottles when there half empty and such). install a fuel tank where the battery is, and run E85 with the wet kit.

or

A on3performance turbo kit at 10-15psi, goal being 480whp.

price would be about the same I think, nitrous stuff won't be to bad other then the independent fuel system. the turbo kit would probably be $3000-3500 after everything. Maybe more if I get my own tuning junk

nitrous would be a hassle with bottle pressure, and getting the bottles filled. the only shop I like to use to get nitrous is on the other side of town.

turbo kit ad's much more weight to the front end, tons of under-hood heat, lots of tuning, or my own tuning system, have to get a custom mid pipe with cats to try and pass emissions, and it makes the engine hard as hell to turn wrenches on without removing all the turbo junk. but the power is always there

opinions?

Turbo=cracked block
nitrous=melted pistons

I would turbo it...

haha, well i want big power, so I have to risk this weak *** motor. My money would be the pistons coming apart first.

hopefully it lasts about a year and a half. thats about the time that I can see me having the money for a better block. im aiming for a ford strokers 347 dart SHP

I would turbo or SC it!! With it being a street car mainly you will always have the power. Having to fill the bottles would get annoying!! I could see going to the bottle if it was strictly a Strip car!!

Rob, screw the power adders and just go with a 351 base motor! Sell your short block for a regular 351, add your top, end and be done with it.

If I could have afforded it I would have went turbo,but I get my bottles filled cheap,so,nitrous it is! As far as hurting the motor,just tune it safe,don't be stupid on the tune and youll be fine. I was nervous as hell when I cracked the bottle the first time,but now i understand nitrous and tuning it,Iam totally comfortable with it. But if you can afford it,slap a turbo on it.

If you spray either spray it all on the line or don't spray all

That would totaly be the route if it wasn't for the high elevation.

even a decent 351 with my combo, will only put the car at low 12's at my elevation.

here is matt's car. 351w .60 over i think, World Windsor Sr heads OOTB, and a custom solid flat tappet, C4 with a 4600 stall. weight of the car with him in it is 2945

low 12's on motor, 10.7 on his VERY FIRST nitrous pass. (150shot)

so I wish it wasn't the case....... but I NEED some sore of power adder to run anything worth while up here.

I've used nitrous a lot on the old motor. 100 shot took off 2 seconds the first time I used it. So I have pretty good experience with it. just want it to work better.

only reason i want to spray less in first is my first gear is 3.35 in the trans, and I have 4.10 out back with 26" tires. so first gear is like 25-30mph, so its over in a flash. on the bottle its going to be ridiculous trying to get out of first quick enough.

If you go the turbo route, I wouldn't worry about the C4 not having OD as you will want a 3.00-3.55 gear anyway. That won't be too bad in 1:1 with a 26 inch tire.

The turbo deal will be a hassle at first, but if you street drive alot, I think its worth it.
