+1 on the TFS heads.
Find them used on E-Bay all the time, start looking......

I paid $1300 for my TFS TW heads brand new shipped and I love them, but buddy of mine picked up edlebrock performer heads, 1.72 rockers, and trickflow valve covers all for $850. I'd personally stay away from gt40's especially if your doing auto crossing.

I know the bbk intake isn't the best but honestly it's not as bad as everyone thinks it is.... Yea they might not flow the best or make the top power compared to other makers but it works and works great for me. Wasn't hard to install I used all my old injectors and injector o-rings, from where I got the intake 2nd hand the fuel cross over o-ring were worn out and I replaced them from vw trans rebuild kit haha and haven't had the first leaking issue. I know 85% of my mph gains at the track was from the heads I put on, but this intake has done me good so far with good low end tq and great pull all the way to the rev limiter. This little "crap set up" (as I was told b/c of the intake) is either out running, staying right beside, or pulling better times than car with supposedly better set up's.

Just my 2 cents

Im glad to hear a little bit of good news about the BBK intake, cuz honestly...I already bought it before hearing anything negative about it lol which I looked into it before I did and saw positive reviews. I got it 2nd hand brand new for an awesome deal, which makes me debate still using it or not, but Im breathing a little easier with what you said 89LX coupe. I'm still not 100% sure, I mean I really like the intake, but I dont want to be making a mistake either. I probably will look into the TF's though, which as much as I'm going to be putting into my suspension it would be in my best interest to go as light as possible.

I'll say I've always wanted the intake mainly b/c of the looks but a buddy of mine bought a car that had the intake on it he had issues with it and I got it for a steal. Replaced those 2 o-rings and no problems. I plugged off most of the vacume ports with pipe plugs and ran what I needed. I'll recommend doing a fuel press regulator and gauge before you do the install b/c It'll be a pain to go back and put one in. All the allen head bolt are all standard sizes and the ones for the top plate can be easy to strip out if your not careful.

Don't have any updated finished pics of it on the car but here is a video of it so you can see under the hood. My little exhaust and blown up trans video lol

it sounds good other than the lots of clunking lol I dont know, I'll have to think it over. I like the looks too, its very unique and would stand out even if it were recolored. How long have you been running yours?

It's about 3 months now since it was all put in. Mine was in rough shape with the factory powdercoat, so I sandblasted everthing (big pita) and had it powdercoated simular to the color of my car. Do what you want man, its your build and if you have any questions feel free to ask
