Default Heim Joints/Rod Ends....

I am fabbing up my own LCA's and I have been looking at rod ends.....I haven't had the chance to actually sit and measure what size ends would be good to use so I figured I would ask on here...for anyone who would be so kind to do so.....what size rod ends are used on your control arms? Curious on what brands use what.....

measurements as such.....

Thanks, do you have a specific place you look? QA1 has a good selection on their site I found last night.

Thanks, now another question, from what I have seen on arms such as Team Z's and upr's, the body end looks like its just tubing and has nothing to use as a pivot when the arm articulates up and down in the torque box....is that really all it is? tubing against body or are there bearings of some sort there as well??

I'm curious what feature you need that is not on any of the already available control arms... designing and building as custom set seems like a lot of work, so there must be something you're trying to accomplish that none of the others have already.

There is a spherical bushing that goes inside the body ends. Fits in there and then a bolt goes through.

It also is lime 1.5 mm wider then the body so the body of the arm is free to give when tightened

Because I have the fabrication skills to do so....I like to make my own stuff and see it work for a fraction of the price. Once I sit down and start the work, it won't take long at all to do it...just doing research and pricing stuff in my spare time.

I will never purchase UPR suspension parts, Team Z is more drag oriented and right now I am working on my corner carver. However I do have a couple drag projects ready to start when the time/funds are here.....I want a set of MM's but I am not spending the $300+ on the ones I want right now.

Basically I plan on building a bunch of custom suspension parts for the fox and other vehicles down the road. Part of my future plans for mine and my brothers shop.
