Default A quick question about a 460 sub amp

Hello all. I have an issue with my Mach 460 in an 02. Everthing works fine but the only sound I get is from the highs. The subs aren't functioning. My guess is the amp is toast. How big of a hassle is it to get hold of one if that is the case? And, is the setup as I think it is one amp for subs and one for highs? Well, thanks in advance for any and all advice.

the amp should be located under the rear deck. I would start by checking all your fuses first....

One is actually for the front door mid bass drivers and the other one is for the rear. The tweeters are powered solely by the head unit.

I checked the fuses and used a test light on both hot test tabs the fuses were hot. Thanks for the suggestion.(Really wish that would have worked)

Oh man Then Im in deeper than I thought........ Due to the fact that the door subs are not working either.

Im guessing Im gonna need to trace down the hot wires at the amps and use a test lead to see if the amps are powered. Kind of strange that two amps flatlined at the same time????

Well, thank you all for the info and help.

I am still going with the fuse since they both died. Did you check all the fuses or just the ones you suspect deal with the system? Sometimes they like to connect them with the cig lighter circuit or other circuits. IF I suspect a fuse is bad I always check all of them including the fuse box under the hood.....

those factory ford amps have a turn on and constant power wire connected to one side of each amp...use a multimeter and check each amp and see if your gettin current to them ...if you are read the impedance at the speakers and see if thyey are just blown..if you dont get power in my experience in this industry sometimes the audio and audio amp fuse r good...but the accesory fuse under the hood is blown...

I did a full check of all the fuses with the test light today went down the line and checked them as suggested.. I didn't look under the hood so I will give it a good once over tomorrow then incase.

Im going to go deeper if the fuses turn up good. I will use the multimeter to see if there is power from the remote and constant power wire's.

Getting closer and really, REALLY hope that the subs aren't ko'ed I didn't think of that till it was brought up. Is the rear sub box easy to open or is it sealed as good as it looks?
