how to calibrate needles?
screwed up yet another item...
while trying to install new white faced indigloish gauges, had to remove the needles.
i took digital pictures of everything, and stuck everything back just like the pictures.
all the wiring worked out nicely, and the gauges turn on nice, etc.
HOWEVER... speedo reads 30mph at stop, almost 3000rpm at idle
fuel well above full, oil press and battery voltage also jacked up.
engine temp... who the f knows?
my idea is: run engine at idle, fix the tachometer to whatever a stock 04 GT runs at (any ballpark numbers?)
by moving needles by hand without that lens over them.
repeat for everything else, manually moving the battery and pressure to about middle, fuel to full (i know i have a full tank),
and maybe borrow a friend's GPS (or pace car talking on cell phone) while a passenger tacks my speedo.
or maybe i should say screw it, and have someone who can read my car's computer (or w/ scangaugeII) tell me where everything should be.
any other bright ideas?
someone should really warn anyone trying to install their own gauge overlays the high screwup potential.
04 GT pretty much stock
except for 18" ASA JH8 wheels
redlinegoods shift boots, aluminum shift ****
HIDs
cold air intake
botched indiglo gauges!

well if its a 99+ then all you have to do is hold the trip meter button and start thr car. Then rellease the button. now you can choose between the tach and speedo. im not exactly sure how it works but its the factory ford diegnostic tool..
