? for audio people
NOW NOW BOYS all that big talk about big wattage and subs is all fun and games till someone gets an eye put out. i used to do this sound system crap competition and if he wants hard hitting bass that catches good rap bass which is on the lower frequency range 90% of the time, i would go with 2 12" kicker comp vx dual coil 4ohm , wired parallel, that way hes running a 2ohm a speaker and run a 1ohm stable amplifier mono bridged. alot of people dont care for them, but i liked running the autotek mean machine 1400.1 and would highly suggest it to anyone. the box must be as close to specs as possible and i have a box building program i can send via email upon request. it needs to be sealed from the inside with liquid nail or caulking so that when the subs are installed if compressed they will depress slowly. try to build a box firing straight back towards the rear and you will need a 2 farad cap atleast. the l7 have a break in period most people dont realize where the comp vx are plug and play. i had this amp on two comp vr last years woofers 12" and in two weeks the voice coils were roasted. the comp vx will hold up just fine to the wattage for this amp you just might have to keep it at 3/4 gain. we bench tested my amp at 1407 watts rms at 1 ohm. alot of amps say they are 1 ohm stable but are not the autotek is. besides the comp vx are compared to the L7. the subs and amp make a really good looking installation. you can get em cheap on ebay both subs and amp.
