Default Warranties

I have a 8w7 with a factory warranty. It says the warranty is void at 500ish Watts. If I have a 350ish amp and my sub blew for some reason, would I easily get another sub for free. How do you prove that you played the sub below the cut off point?

Keep in mind, you can blow ANY speaker with ANY amp. If you send a dirty signal to the sub, you will blow it up. I don't know of any way to prove you didn't clip the signal. Too bad the speakers don't have the same type of set-up the NASCAR rides have to prove the car exceeded the RPM range of motor

Sorry for your prob. Good luck.

So how would you go about getting a new sub if yours broke? Has anyone taken advantage of their warranties (or tried)?

Contact the carrier of the warranty, andsee what they say. They just may look at the rating of amp/speaker and hook you up with a new sub. I have been running high power stereos for many years and have not blown any speakers up, so not sure what I would do other than above if had a prob.

you can blow a speaker with too little power easier then with too much power. When you send it a weak signal it will start to "clip" alot sooner. "Clipping" is when the top of the sign wave(music) gets cut off and instead of being a smooth curve, becomes a straight line. Now instead of sending your speakers AC(alternating current or music in this case) you are sending it DC(Direct current) and nothing could be worse for a speaker. It would be the same as hooking you speaker up to the battery. It will move to its furthest limit either forward or backward for a second, then start to smoke.
