Default Can't play CD-r's? *Resolved*

Hey guys, my 2003 Mustang GT has a CD6 Mach 460 stereo in it. The CD player will play professionally made CD's perfectly, but if I try to burn a CD on my desktop it sounds horrible. I was wondering if anybody else had the same problem. I want to get to the bottom of this, but could use some information from all of you.

Those of you with CD6's, what media have you found to play correctly in your car, and what burner did you use to burn it? I'll honestly buy a new burner and different CD'r's to get it working.

The only thing that could be an untestable variable would be that I use gentoo linux. If any of you also use linux, your input is especially valuable.

Thanks in advance, guys.

It's burned as an audio CD. It plays in any other player that can player an audio CD format disk. I'm not burning them as mp3/ogg/wav/wma, they're being burned as CD tracks.

I have the same problem. I have a 03 also. I think that we got a bad batch or something. I have other friends with stangs that dont have this problem.

Well, I guess I don't mind. The rest of the car honestly out performs and out styles most other mustangs on the road, at least mine does. People complement me on my "after market" exhaust. They look at me funny when I explain to them the only thing I've changed that could alter the exhaust note is my choice of oil. Royal Purple makes cars better cars.

Anyway, I figured out a choice resolution for this, and it may work for you: memorex brand CD-R's. I know the operating system was a non determining factor, as there were CD's that were burned on windows that displayed the same problem. Moving to the memorex CD-R's gave me great performance. The CD's load up quite quick, I am figuring they are recognized faster than the real printed CD's. So score one there...

Give it a try. Should work for you, too.
