mine sounds better this way than the ported box i had it in and that was a hella good box, but to each his own.

its not getting too hot under the driver's seat? i've heard you need plenty of air flowing over the amp.

you do need air flowing over the amp. i have a rockford fosgate punch series (2 10" subs and a 700 watt rockford forsgate amp) i mounted the amp to one of the rear seat backs and have it laid down and velcroed in place. it holds even under hard accel and cornering. the box is velcroed in the trunk as well. ill post pics in a minute i suppose- let me go out to the garage and take a few pics then ill post them in a bit...
