New Box Problems... Please Help
Ok i had the Kick Comp DC12s but the box was to big to fit in the trunk of the mustang. So i built a new box. it is tilted in sted of square like the original box. The original box had a giant port in it so i put one in the new box, but this box is quit a bit smaller. But now the subs dont even come close to hitting as hard in this box as they did in the original box, In the stock box it hit at least 2 or 3 times harder, i have it wired the same and everything, just smaller box, if i cover the port it seems like its a little louder but still no where as loud, i dont want to go back to the original cause i need my back seat for my little brothers when we go to the lake and stuff and thats the only place i had to put box, now i got this one in my trunk but still it dont hit anywhere as hard. what can i do.
is the smaller box just sealed or is it vented too? Bc sealed boxes will not hit as hard as a vented box will. sealed boxes are more for sound quailty and vented boxes are more for loud hard hitting bass (in simple terms).
Did you build the new box using any of the specs of the sub or just built something to fit it the trunk?

Well as you just found out the box is actually more important then the woofer. A good woofer in a bad box sounds bad on a good day, will help to blow the woofer on a bad day. How big is this box?
A port is not just a holw in a box. It is actually a tuned device that will depend on length and size depending onthe woofer.
