Default Shaker 500 radio compatability 2005 convertible

My 2005 V6 convertible Mustang has a 4R3T18C815 Shaker 500 radio with the old antenna plug and three additional plugs/connectors (one for the subwoofer). Just the FM went out and I have the unit out of the car - wife is NOT happy!

The 5R3T18C815 has the same configuration of antenna plug and 3 plugs/connectors. Are they interchangeable? Will the 5T fit in my 2005 6 cylinder convertible that came with the 4R3T18C815 Shaker? Or will any other model 6R3T, 7R3t... be a fairly easy plug and play. I like my old Shaker 500 and would prefer OEM rather than an upgrade nonfactory unit.

May or may not work. Since you have the older type antenna plug, it will most likely plug right in.

Antenna Application: This fits 2005, 2005 and many 2006 vehicles. Starting in 2006/2007 many Ford vehicles have a different antenna plug than the one I am selling. From the back of the radio, instead of a simple hole, the newer ones have a white cylinder in the middle of the antenna hole. If your current radio has the white cylinder in the antenna plug then my radio will not work for you.

My 08 has the white cylinder on the antenna plug (newer style) so it would not work in mine.

The only issue would be the antenna plug. All the Shaker units have the three
main connectors in back. The non Shaker units have just the two. So, any
05-09 Shaker radio will plop in. The Antenna plug would be the only issue if they
are different than later models. You can get an adapter.
