Swap out Shaker 500 - head unit only - for Shaker 1000?

Swap out Shaker 500 - head unit only - for Shaker 1000?
My Shaker 500 head unit (in my 2005 GT) has the color rubbing off of the buttons. I've got the opportunity to get a Shaker 1000 head unit with buttons that look good - plus I kind of like the chrome highlights on the *****.
Will the Shaker 1000 head unit plug right up and work fine to run my stock Shaker 500 speaker set up? I don't want to change anything other than just swapping the head unit from the Shaker 500 to the Shaker 1000.
