Default Kickdown Linkage

In looking at replacing my carb, tech at autparts noticed that there is no kick down linkage running to current Holley carb set up. It is a 70 302 with Auto - not sure if original trans. But feels like a 3 speed. The shop manuals I have just talk about adjusting it - but I can't find any illustration on how it hooks to trans. Appreciate any help in understanding what it does and how it is hooked to trans. thanks

The 70 may be different than the 66. I know my 72 was. When I bought my 72 the kickdown linkage (a hollow tube) was long gone. It didn't fit with the holley or the edelbrock aftermarket carbs anyway. So I bought a cable from Lokar. They have them for most applications, They are a bit more expensive because they are braided stainless. They are simple to install.

Thanks for the tip. I did talk to some one else and they suggested making one out of 3/8 fuel line. Use a hanger to get the bends right and then bend the fuel line and flatten edges- seemed like a good idea. Can't find a aftermarket one for 1970 anywhere.

Seems to me that fuel line would either be too small or too soft of a metal. I would think it would just bend when you went to kick it down.
