Its kind of a double edge sword. 10yrs ago at car shows knowone cared about 67/68. Everyone liked the the 65/66 and went gaga over the Boss and Mach's. It would have to be a trailor queen or Shelby or BB 428 to bring a crowd around to the 67/68 at mustang shows. This also shows true in the price you could get one for back then when comparied to other years. The recent demand for 67/68 has had its good points too, in the fact that all the new resto parts that after 30yrs still wern't made 5yrs ago rear qtrs vent windows etc etc etc. The fact that Dynacorn is now making every single peice of sheet metal availible for a 67 is a good thing whether you want to own up to it or not.

If I had 75 grand, and I wanted a serious powerful sports car, I wouldn't be looking at Mustangs. I would be looking at Porsche's and Lambroghinis.

A mustang would be the 1st place I would go. you could make one hell of a fast 06 gt with that much cash.
I do agree that the popularity of the eleanor car has benefited all of us. Whether you like them or not, the popularity that the eleanor brought to the mustang has greatly increased the availability of quality replacement parts. Dynacorn has done a fantastic job of reproducing quality panels so mustangs can be put back on the road. So whether you like it or not, the car has been a good thing. Build em stock, modify them to show or go, whatever you want there is a place for it all.
i do agree it is being over done. they are making too damn many of them and they want an arm and a leg. the reason they were so sought after was the limited number of them in existance.
personally, i like the look of the e2 kit for the 65-66. i am begining to turn away from the side pipes cause the rear valance with the two chrome pipes sticking thru looks sooooo much cooler.
personally i respect every man/woman's decision as to what they do with their car. i DO NOT respect a company going out and mass producing a car that was in a movie REMAKE and was not the same as the ORIGIONAL star of the movie!

this beautiful beast is eleanor, that finely crafted (because it is) 68 from the remake (which i did enjoy cause nick cage is a great actor and over all it was a good movie) IS NOT eleanor.
edit: once i found out that there was an original (yes i'm dumb) i went right out and found it. ever since than when i hear eleanor, i see yellow mach

Restomod =

I would love to see a full body kit become available, much as they have for the early camaro convertible. When a company comes forward with a 67 fastback body that you can buy and create Eleanors up the wazoo, that'd be awesome. They could then leave the classics be. It'd also be good for Hollywood...then they can keep destroying what looks like a Mustang without trashing an original.

the original eleanor was definitely a cool car, especially because of the abuse it took. But, it was not a boss. Also, I have heard some rumors that Dynacorn is in fact planning on making 67 fastbacks. The only major obstacle they have to overcome at this point is working out the details with Ford
As I stated in a previous post, I don't like them but can appreciate the craftsmanship and engineering that goes into them.
I don't like the fact they are swallowing 67-68 fb's up. And even though Dynacorn will probably be making full 67 shells in the near future, I want an original not a "new" 67 fb.
These highly modified resto mods are no longer Mustangs but "Phantom" cars. They are a one of none.
As far as 65-66's being chick cars, well I guess out of the 1 million they made in the first two years of production, most of them must have been purchased by women. I guess they weren't very popular. [8D]
Just remember, just because people spend time in front of your car (not pointing fingers at anyone in particular) at shows doesn't always mean they like what they see. I spend time at a lot of shows in front of some of these cars wondering "what the hell were they thinking".
