Default 67 Mustang I6 ?

Water assisted choke

My fast idle will not release, now matter how long I run the car.
I am thinking adjust the choke spring tension, if I am correct turning cclockwise loosens tension, while clockwise will add tension,,,,,
So to allow it to kick off fast idle, would I need to tighten or loosen spring tension?

Most choke covers will tell you which way is lean

Otherwise first observe the cover for index mark and make a mental note of it ot mark it with a dab of nail polish

Loosen the cover screws and tap the cover to break it loose

move the cover back and forth and observe which way loosens it

Move it one index mark toward lean from previous setting and lock it up

If it is not enough move it one mark at a time until you find a setting that you like.

You also have an idle adjustment screw. Look toward the rear of the carb, and on the linkage you will see the screw. Turn it counter clockwise to idle down.
