Default custom aluminum drive shaft

Has anyone used an Aerostar aluminum driveshaft and had it shortened to use in their classic mustang? I read about this on a different STANG forum and wondered if anyone here has done it. How well had it worked? How much horsepower do you think it would hold up to?

Aluminum can be just as strong or stronger than steel. They also make carbon fiber driveshafts...
