who makes the security system with the ignition kill switch?
i cant remember manufacturer, they had a few at frys electronics, what caught my eye was when the guy helping me said when your alarm goes off it kills your ignition. i though, damn, no switch, i could set the alarm and if someone opens the door ignition goes and theres no switch to find. perfect

I have a fuel cutoff valve, along with an ignition kill switch (plus, you gotta know which switch turns on the ignition in the first place, and which order...the ignition key only unlocks the steering wheel).

Like mentioned, though. A pro thief will be driving a tow truck. The amateurs may be deterred, and they're more likely to cause you a lot of damage trying to steal your ride.

Guys,
If people want the car bad enough it will be flatbeded and gone before you know it before anything kicks in with theft protection. Don't take it out where it will sit without being able to be seen!!

haha a few months ago i almost considered leaving my car outside with the driver door open and a note saying "have fun trying to start it!" when i couldnt figure out what was wrong with it....turned out the alternator wiring got cut by the alternator fan....and then like 2 days later the alternator went bye-bye too.

mine have always looked like crap, even when they are desireable cars.. Add to that the special instructions needed to get them out of gear, and or started, and its no wonder why I havent ever had one stolen. The 70 GTO sat unlocked for two years and nobody ever messed with it.. something to be said for a radio with chrome ***** and a rattle can paintjob on it.. that was a long way from TJ..

Having done a few repos, if its going to be gone, it wont be driven away. Before the knees went I could push any car on my trailer by myself. Even easy with no keys.. well some cars are..lol.

Take it back home park it inside with a car cover, and get a beater for school. Who wants to steal a pos like the Intrepid? or a Tarus...

first don't ask me how I know this.
One, most car theives are only interested in new(er) cars and luxury models that they can either sell the parts, or entire thing overseas for cheap. (think old fashioned chop shops). Now if it's one of these types that think your car will be an easy steal, they'll get in and try to start it quick. If it doesn't start they 99% of the time won't even go into your hood nor will they have something that can tow it away. Worst case you've got a busted window and maybe some cosmetic damage and your radio is gone. In this case, get an alarm or pull the coil and you're probably fine
On the other hand, if someone is specifically targeting yourmustang or other specialty car, they either know you have it, or have had their eyes on it for a while. These guys know what they are doing and usually have some way of towing it away. With these types you're probably SOL.
