I figured it'd probably be much faster and cheaper to use a cutting wheel than sawzaw blades..

four good jack stands and a floor jack. Two jack stands under the rear subframe. While the back end is still in the air, place the second two under the rear, letting the rear end drop about half it's travel. Soak all leaf spring bolts with penatrating oil. I actually do it the night before and again right before i start work. If you areuncomfortable regarding unbolting the rear shackles, use the floor jack under theshock plate to raise or lower the rear end on that side until the shackles freely come out. I've had my leafs out three time in the last 6 mos, making adjustments, and it can be out/in in less then three hours, both sides. Having the right tools is the key to the job. of course a compressor helps too...

why are you all making it seem so difficult. for me the hardest part is bending over and then standing up again (sore back). put the rear rails on jack stands to support the weight of the car. slide the jack just under the pumpkin and give it like 1 or 2 pumps just to hold it. the springs will have no tension. for the front bolt, heat that puppy until it is glowing red. slam it with asledge hammer and out she comes. if it doesnt come out, heat it more. dont waste your time trying to cut those bolts. be carefule when heating it because the bushing will flame up. when it flames up just pull the torch away for a few seconds.
