If those are windsor heads, they may not flow enough for your 408, even ported...which cam you using?

1. Have you decided on the intended use for this car? What is it?

2. What cam profile are you considering? Have you thought about a custom grind (this goes hand in hand with the 4th question)

3. Did you set a budget? Are you still under it?

4. Did you set a performance goal? What is it?

Stock 351w heads, even heavily worked are a poor choice unless you are required to run them in your class. For the amount of money you would have to spend to get them set up to support the flow requirements of a modest performance buildup for a 408 stroker you would be better off buying aftermarket IMO.

well mostly like a prostreet car..on my engine i have now its a 347 from coasthigh which im gaining 520-550, or so im trying to gain at least on that area or above. besides my dad is wanting my engine i guess he says its sounds crazy and would luve it if i gave it to him...but cams im not really sure im mean im looking around i just want the hard sound grind sound so to say. and my budget is at least 5g's ive built my tranny (c-4) and i just got my new rear end. 4:11. but for now i dont want to go to the limit were i only have to take it to the track. with the 347 i have i just drive to the store or on a special occasion or u know lay the smack down lol. but i mean i rarley use it. but other than that i could say im doing pretty well.
on the heads yeah thanks for the info... some one was regaurding about afc heads if im correct.. but i might use my head from the 347 cuz the heads are running afc heads

That 408W is going to need the best heads you can get. AFR's or Canfields. I'd really do some studying before I sprang all those $$$$$$$
