Default RE: 351C Performance Question

ORIGINAL: arkight

I have a 351C 2V engine and what i am trying to do is get about 320HP at the wheels what are some suggestion as to what i can do to the engine. I would like to keep the stock heads if possible if it isn't possible with the swap tell me.

Would a edlebrock performer with a compcam268H with the extras you know new lifter and springs and a four barrel carb be enough. The car will be a street car about95% of the time, butmy buddy might talk me to take it to the 1/8 mile drag to race his camaro every once in a wahile and i would rather no looses to bad.

I didnt want to go all roller if i could advoid let me know what you think. Also what do you think that a 1969 coupe with a 351C in it weighs.
Might talk you? Dude DO IT.

Any other suggestion on what to do or will work with what i was thinking work. And of course i was going to replace all the springs, lifters, retainer, valve seals, push rods, andvalves and such when i put the cam in.

Any ideas on clearingthe hood on the air gap intake or the weight.

When I rebuilt my 351C/2V I used the cam you mentioned (3rd one down). Also did the following:

All new internal partsexcept crank which was polished, bored .030 over, performer intake, Holley 650 double pumper, long tube headers, H pipe, ravin Z55 mufflers, all new (stock)valve train. FMX auto with stock converter. Dyno tuned and got 240 RWHP. Does anyone know how to calculate what the HP at the block would be?
