Keep in mind that the wiring technique I refer you to, is the same that Ford used to get power to the Rally Pac, the trunk light, the 'Pony' door lights, and probably a couple of other add on wiring circuits I missed.

Just read som tech article on wiring edelbrock carbs. They use the power source feed for the windshieldwiper engine by splicing a wire. Same technique as you recommended and i guess that will also work. Windshieldwiper engine or windshield washer engine will also provide the same power right ?

Any time you 'cut' and 'splice' a wire in the engine compartment, you inevitabely get problems - moisture for one. I look for reliability in all my installations (some are out of this world - I'm tooting my own horn). I learned not to be to anxious with a pair of cutters and find a better way.

But my theory is correct ? The + source feed of the windshieldwiper engine or windshield washer engine would give me the same result ?

Being it's under the dash, after you find the correct wire (there are seven on a 66),you have to punch a hole in the firewall, and then seal it. As long as you are under the dash, attach your wire to the switched terminal on the ignition switch.

Cutting and splicing wires has been going on for over a century with great success. The problem in the past has been the incorrect procedure to cut and splice. The correct procedure is to cut the wire, peel back the vinyl cover about an inch, put a heat shrink tube over one of the cut wires then twist and solder the wires together. Slip the heat shrink tube over the soldered area and hit the heat shrink tube with a cigarette lighter. Walllah. One helllava joint.

Did you buy the carb new?? If so, watch the dvd that came with it. In the installation section it tells you how you should hook it up (to the ACC fuse under the dash). That is straight from the edelbrock techs.

On the beer note, I lived in Germany for 6 years, and spent a month in a half in Antwerp. Both countries beers are awesome, and now I hate american beer. I pay out the butt for imports[&o]

Not sure which section it is in, but is under installation 1,2,3, or 4.

Use the KISS principle - Keep It Simple Stupid. The 'generic' installation works on all cars including 'bow ties' and 'doggies', after you punch a hole in the firewall and dissassemble the instrument cluster.
