I'm doing that exact conversion right now. I've been rebuilding a 66 289 and last night removed the 6cyl. As Soaring and others have advised me too, there is a lot more than just engine replacement. Tranny, rear end, suspension, and brakes, not to mention smaller things like motor mounts and exaust. Like I said, I'm in the middle of it right now. Keep in touch
