Here is is,, with a 42 month warranty, you just need the intake, carb, oil pan, water pump, timing cover, and dissy and you are set.. You would still be way under 5K, if you went this route..

Several years ago, Ibought a whole car to get the engine and tranny, then sold the car and got all but a $100.00 of my money back...
Sounds good right? Except that the car I did this to was a 70 Camaro 396 SS, (402) and I sure would like to have this vehicle now.... damn.. Sold it for $600.00.... and it was in good shape..
Normally people looking to get an old car out of their yard either don't know or don't care about the value of the engine and other drive train components in the vehicle..... Sometimes you can do good this way...

My advice is to look first and foremost at 'streetability' and then power. All the horsepower in the world doesn't mean anything to most people if it doesn't come on until 4000+ RPM and the thing can't hold idle below 1000 rpm and needs super high octane fuel to run properly.
If your interested, I have a 69 351w shortblock with 11k on it, its got forged pistons, balanced, hyd roller cam, lifters, oil pan, timing cover, waterpump, balancer.......My 408 is almost done and its just been sitting in my garage, for cheap........add some twisted wedge heads, I even have the custom pushrods I'll throw in
heres some pics of it in the car http://htwheelz.smugmug.com

my dad bought a 79' ford 1-ton with a ,bad ***, 390 and a granny gear 4-speed, now it has a , SUPER KICK ALL OTHER TRUCKS ASSES IN PULLING 300, bored and stroked to 348, I6, for fifty bucks. and we still have it, and man does it thump, wwwwwwwwwoooooooooo doggy it WILL THUMP BOYS!!!!!! hahahaha
also what would be the difference between a long block and a short block.. just size? or is it a compatability issue? can someone tell me if a longblock will fit a '67 coupe?
no rust here, and the "shortblock" I am selling is a complete engine except for the heads with roller cam conversion, most "longblocks" dont have timing cover,w/p,oil pan, balancer etc.....unless high performance are not balanced, no forged pistons, no upgrded rods/bolts etc.......
