Yes, you can use the stock shifter with an AOD. You have to either modify your linkage, and the lever on transslightly (I believe, do a search), or you can buy a linkage kit (what I did).

Gearvendor, I've only heard good things about it, however, you can buy a freshly built AOD for less.

Thanks for the info.

When you use your stock shifter in drive I asume the trans is on OD how do you get to the other 3 gears?

The shift pattern for the AOD is: P R N OD D L.
So there aren't any more gears. L is 1st & 2nd.
So to re- map:

P R ND 2 1 becomes
P R N OD D L

Hope this is what you wanted.

Edited to line up shift patterns.

Go ahead and make it a GTA clone. It's your car. The real deal is priced out of my range personally. I am going to build my '66 into a GT because I can. It will only look like a GT but it will be better. K-code engine badge? Yep, of course it will be a 331 that will look like a K engine.

I'd rather build a restomod/GT clone out of a C-code/C4 car than restomod the real deal. I would never tell anyone that it was an actually GT though if asked. The only secret would be the engine.

Is the Granada brake conversion the way to go? I have manual drums now and would like to go to power disk/drum.
