For all intents and purposes, the SSBC kit is a replica of the factory brakes and will fit with original 14" steel wheels or equivalent. My thoughts on drum brakes is that they are just fine for everyday driving. Their biggest liability is that the automatic adjusters never seem to work well so they require more attention to make sure that everything is in order.
my SSBC discs fit in the 14" wheels I had originally - the only part that didnt was the wheel weights that had been put inside the rims (they were quickly removed by the calipers on the first drive..)
i've since gone to 16" wheels, only b/c the 14's were crappy 80's style "turbo fan" rims
celtic - do you have the vin / data plate info - doesnt mean the brakes werent upgraded but it'll give a better idea of what the car originally had.....
